Birds
Mull is a paradise for all kinds of birds. The Ormsaig cottage is an excellent place to stay if you want to go bird watching.
Famous is the sea eagle that nests on Mull, one of the only 5 pairs in Europe! There are tours available to go sea eagle spotting.
Just of the coast of Mull is a breeding colony of puffins that you can visit. These adorable birds only come on land to breed, around the month May.
Marine life
It is possible to go whale watching in the waters near Mull. Sometimes, dolphines and sea otters can been seen in Loch Scridain. There are also several rich fishing grounds on Mull (mackarel, trout, salmon), permit is obligatory.
Land animals
Mull has a large population of red deer, which often come near the cottage after sunset to graze on the lawn. Farm animals (not so wild) are permitted to wander around freely and you will surely meet some of the famous higlander cows or lazy sheep on the road.
